Welcome to my blog! Occasionally I will share images and my thoughts about them. Please...enjoy!
Oh, how I love to walk into the Festival of Trees every year! The trees are different every year. Some are darling, some hilarious and some are outright stunning. This event supports the Senior Resource Center in Chester, NJ which you can learn more about here: http://srcnj.org
This year's theme is "Holly, Jolly Christmas" and here are some details:

At various times there are craft tables, singers, storytelling and, of course, Mr. and Mrs. Claus stop by several times! Special thanks, always, to the wonderful sponsors you will see at the end!
I recently had the opportunity to go apple picking and what a beautiful day it was. Apples as far as the eye could see and they were oh SO delicious! This is only the second time I have done this and I think that it will become an annual event for our household!
As summer comes to an end, I must admit that I am already missing the wonderful days we have had. Yes, I have a profound appreciation for the beauty of autumn and winter, but I love spring and summer the best! One day I captured this bit of summer magic and looking at it now, it lights my heart up!
After the rain a few days ago, I went out and saw these beautiful lilies. So, of course, I had to grab a camera and capture them! I am so glad I did...a few hours later I looked out the window to see a doe munching away at them. She paused, staring at me with her mouth open, as the last of the blooms fell to the ground before she turned and took off. Happily, there are more buds waiting to open!
Every day is a New Year celebration for lots of people. One of the most special is the first year in someone's life. Yes, I'm talking about birthdays! Some of my favorite types of events to be a part of bring together several generations. This first birthday celebration did just that. The birthday girl had her parents, grandparents and even some great grandparents to celebrate with her. While she may not remember this special day, she will always have these images to remind her that she is greatly loved!
The Festival of Trees at The Barn at Highlands Ridge Park, 100 North Road, Chester, NJ is an event not to be missed. There are over 60 decorated trees filling a rustic, renovated handicapped accessible barn with thousands of twinkling lights all making a wonderland of enchantment! It is a beautiful way to spend an hour or two or three all the while supporting the Senior Resource Center, serving seniors and their caregivers in Morris County and beyond. Oh yes, and Santa and Mrs. Claus stop by several times!!!

This is the season for giving thanks and there are many ways to do so...prayer, a hug, a gift, a hand up, and what I witness so frequently, paying it forward. I'd like to show you one of the ways I witnessed just last weekend. The Park Avenue Club is set up as a non profit organization and exists to benefit others. You can learn more about the Park Avenue Club and who they benefit here: www.parkavenueclub.com
Last weekend the Park Avenue Foundation hosted the First Annual Friendsgiving 5K. It was a beautiful morning for this event and some great folks came out to make it a success!
Tell me, what are some of your favorite ways to give thanks?
